Become the best of the best!
On November 7-8, the annual Riga Technical University (RTU) student seminar āāStep by Step: How to be the BEST of the BESTā will take place. This year, participants will gather at the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry (LVKĶI) in Riga – the main location and one of the challenge partners of the event.
The seminar aims to develop studentsā professional and personal skills, focusing on soft skills such as communication, presentation, teamwork, and leadership. Over two intensive days, students will attend lectures, workshops, and discussions with partner companies, as well as solve real-life business cases prepared by the eventās main supporters – Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry (LVKĶI), DNB Bank (DNB), and MSC Shared Service CenterĀ Riga (MSC).
This yearās challenges include:
- Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry Challenge – āāGreen Universityāā: Students will develop and present a project that improves university sustainability through energy efficiency, waste reduction, and promoting a healthy lifestyle among students.
- DNB Bank Challenge – Regional Service Center: Teams will evaluate the opportunities and risks of opening a new service center in a Latvian region, focusing on workforce availability, training needs, and language proficiency.
- MSC Shared Service Center Riga- Presentation: A session dedicated to project management insights and real examples from company practice.
The seminar will be held in English. The event is organized by BEST-Riga in collaboration with RTU Well-being and Career Support Center.

SeminÄra mÄrÄ·is ir attÄ«stÄ«t studentu profesionÄlÄs un personÄ«gÄs prasmes, Ä«paÅ”i pievÄrÅ”oties soft skills jeb mÄ«ksto prasmju pilnveidei – komunikÄcijai, prezentÄÅ”anai, komandas darbam un lÄ«derÄ«bai. Divu intensÄ«vu dienu laikÄ studenti piedalÄ«sies lekcijÄs, darbnÄ«cÄs un diskusijÄs ar sadarbÄ«bas partneriem, kÄ arÄ« risinÄs reÄlas uzÅÄmumu sagatavotas problÄmsituÄcijas. Å Ä« gada galvenie atbalstÄ«tÄji ir Latvijas Valsts koksnes Ä·Ä«mijas institÅ«ts (LVKĶI), DNB Banka (DNB) un MSC Shared Service Center Riga (MSC).
Å Ä« gada izaicinÄjumi:
- Latvijas Valsts koksnes Ä·Ä«mijas institÅ«ta izaicinÄjums – āZaÄ¼Ä universitÄteā: studentiem bÅ«s jÄizstrÄdÄ un jÄprezentÄ projekts, kas veicina universitÄtes ilgtspÄjÄ«bu, uzlabojot energoefektivitÄti, mazinot atkritumus un sekmÄjot veselÄ«gu dzÄ«vesveidu studentu vidÅ«.
- DNB Bankas izaicinÄjums – ReÄ£ionÄlais servisa centrs: komandÄm bÅ«s jÄizvÄrtÄ iespÄjas un riski, kas saistÄ«ti ar jauna servisa centra izveidi kÄdÄ no Latvijas reÄ£ioniem, Ä«paÅ”i pievÄrÅ”ot uzmanÄ«bu darbaspÄka pieejamÄ«bai, apmÄcÄ«bu vajadzÄ«bÄm un valodu prasmju lÄ«menim.
- MSC Shared Service Center Riga prezentÄcija – sesija, kas veltÄ«ta projektu vadÄ«bas principiem un praktiskiem piemÄriem no uzÅÄmuma pieredzes.
SeminÄrs notiks angļu valodÄ.
PasÄkumu organizÄ BEST-Riga (Board of European Students of Technology – Riga) sadarbÄ«bÄ ar RTU LabklÄjÄ«bas un karjeras atbalsta centru.
